Morgan's 1st Place One Act Directing Debut

Updated: Sep 11, 2024

Hired as the Minneota Public Schools One Act Director, Morgan leapt into a new territory of competitive theatre. Minnesota High School One Act Competition is layered with strict rules and protocols. Morgan had never participated in this competition before. After numerous days of study and thoughtful deliberation, she chose to direct Caryl Churchill's play Heart's Desire. Known for its complexity, Churchill's work posed a significant challenge for the high school performers. Morgan enjoyed designing and building an original set and fulfilling the interesting script requirement of building a 10 foot tall bird costume. After hard work and commitment, the team took first place at their competition. This victory was truly remarkable, especially considering Minneota High School's absence from the One Act scene for several years.
